4. Use of Global Change Master Directory Controlled Vocabulary

   The FGDC Metadata Standard allows use of one or several thesaurus lists for the Keyword field.

   Note that one could use two defined thesaurus lists, and also have a third list that is uncontrolled and allows the describer of the data set to chose keywords as needed.

   The NOAA standard is the 1996 Global Change Master Directory (GCMD) Vocabulary that is listed on:
